Welcome Stephen

We are overjoyed to welcome our new Partner, Stephen Lawson. He will join our fantastic team in Manchester and work remotely and from the office. As part of his introduction to the IDR Law team, we thought this would be a great opportunity for you to get to know him.

Our New Partner Stephen:

Stephen joins the team, having come from a background predominately in contentious probate cases.

He has dealt with all aspects of Contentious Will, Trusts and Probate cases, acting for claimant and defendant clients.

His previous work includes claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family & Dependants) Act 1975 and Disputed will claims.  He also dealt with Donatio Mortis Causa, Mutual Will claims, Proprietary Estoppel claims, TOLATA claims, Negligence Actions in respect of will drafting and estate administration, executor and personal representative disputes, Lasting Power of Attorney disputes, Court of Protection disputes, Statutory wills and Capacity to make lifetime gifts.

His Experience,

While working at FDR, Stephen was the Lexcel Senior Reporting Officer, the Reviewing Money Laundering Officer, and the Head of the Civil Litigation Department.  He managed a team of twelve staff at one office and remotely managed five other members of the Litigation Team in another office.

In addition to his legal work,

Stephen regularly presents lectures, seminars, and webinars at regional and national levels as well as informal sessions with external private client departments.

He is also a legal author, having written for numerous publications, including The Times, Law Society Gazette, Family Law Journal, APIL PI Focus, STEP TQR, ACTAPS and numerous other journals.

Outside of work,

Stephen loves country life and has a smallholding with sheep (which he shears himself), chickens, ducks and dogs.
